Iain Thomson is Associate Professor and Director of Graduate Studies in Philosophy at the University of New Mexico, where he received the Gunter Starkey award for teaching excellence.  He also studied with Jacques Derrida at UC Irvine in the 1990s.  He has written more than two dozen journal articles and book chapters on Heidegger and is the author of two books:  Heidegger on Ontotheology: Technology and the Politics of Education (Cambridge UP, 2005) and Heidegger, Art, and Post-Modernity (Cambridge UP, forthcoming 2011).  He is currently working on a philosophical biography of Heidegger and on another book:  Thinking Death After Heidegger:  Levinas, Derrida, Agamben
